Food Safety Hub is operated by JDCS (ABN available on request). We are committed to protecting your personal information in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs). This policy explains what information we collect, why we collect it, and how it is handled.

What information we collect

We collect personal information in two circumstances:

Certificate expiry reminders

If you sign up for a certificate renewal reminder via our reminder tool, we collect your email address and the expiry date you provide. This information is used solely to send you a reminder email before your certificate lapses. We do not collect any other identifying information as part of this service.

HACCP plan purchase

If you purchase a HACCP plan through our HACCP plan tool, we collect your email address and the business information you provide to generate the plan (such as your business name, food type, and operational details). This information is used to generate your document and to deliver it to you. Payment is processed by Stripe — we never see or store your card details (see below).

Analytics

This site uses Plausible Analytics, a privacy-friendly analytics platform. Plausible does not use cookies, does not track you across websites, and does not collect any personally identifiable information. Aggregate, anonymised traffic data (such as page views and referrers) is used to understand how the site is used and to improve it.

Payment data

All payment processing is handled by Stripe, a PCI-DSS compliant payment processor. We do not receive, store, or have access to your credit or debit card details at any point. Stripe's privacy policy governs how your payment information is handled and is available at stripe.com/au/privacy.

How we use your information

We use personal information only for the purpose for which it was collected:

Data storage and security

Personal information is stored on secure servers. We take reasonable steps to protect your information from misuse, loss, and unauthorised access. We retain personal information only for as long as necessary to fulfil the purpose for which it was collected, or as required by law.

Access and correction

Under the Australian Privacy Principles, you have the right to request access to the personal information we hold about you and to request corrections if that information is inaccurate, incomplete, or out of date. To make such a request, contact us at the address below.

Complaints

If you have a complaint about how we have handled your personal information, please contact us in the first instance. If you are not satisfied with our response, you may lodge a complaint with the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) at oaic.gov.au.

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. The "last updated" date at the top of this page will reflect any changes. Continued use of the site after a change constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
